Akane Hanasaki (花咲 茜, Hanasaki Akane) is the student of Kazami Academy junior high class 3-3 where she, Anzu Yukimura and Koko Tsukishima form a trio of close friends and they are often seen together as a group.

Personality[]
Akane loves to tease Koko Tsukishima especially with regards to Yoshiyuki Sakurai, but she is a warm and caring girl to those close to her at the same time.
Etymology[]
- The name Akane means "deep red, dye from the rubia plant" (茜).
- Akane's surname Hanasaki means "flower, blossom" (花) (hana) and "blossom" (咲) (saki).
Trivia[]
- In Plus Situation and Plus Communication, Akane is revealed to have an identical twin sister named Ai Hanasaki who died and whom she still grieves for (but she keeps it hidden with her happy upfront personality).
